Just listened to CC. LSI is REALLY cooking. Book to bill greater than 1.2 in consumer segment, and that segment has seasonally just concluded its weakest quarter. CEO declined to give overall book to bill I think because it is ridiculously high, and some customers may be double ordering because of fear that Y2K could disrupt supplies.

I am VERY positive having listened to the call. I learned a great deal as well from the CEO about all kinds of things, especially about play station. They also handled the INTC question (entering networking but no threat to what LSI does) quite well.

The amusing part of the call is the cat and mouse game played between CEO and analysts concerning capacity utilization.

I really think that next two quarter earnings are going to be upside surprises as well.

Patrick,

Wilf projected a big Q, and even the
Smith Barney guy just two weeks ago projected +4%. Just can't go around all day
saying things and maybe issue 10 pages of fine prints at the end of the day like Q1
no X'mas etc.

You wasted a good rant, man. UP 3 1/8! Maybe you scared'em into it. <g>
