AAPL puffs marketing of QT servers - "buy it and we do the work" "RNWK ain't got no OS , and ain't got no CPU on which to optimize code " , so if they puff too hard and too long they might run out of breath . YAHOO News reports -------: " Apple's upgrade of QuickTime is seen as a challenge to rivals Microsoft Corp. and RealNetworks Inc. Microsoft last week announced the release MS Audio 4.0. RealNetworks, which announced last week a partnership with IBM Corp. to deliver music over the Internet, holds a commanding lead in the streaming media arena. QuickTime 4, available as a free ''public beta'' version, also includes support for the MP3 digital-music format. Apple, based in Cupertino, Calif., also announced Monday that it was giving away parts of the underlying source code for its QuickTime server software, which distributes streamed media over the Internet.
