On the contrary BGR -- many maintain that interest rates in the US have been kept artificially low leading to credit boom which will not be resolved without significant woe to everyone.

However, it is human nature to look at the symptoms and not the causes when assessing a problem: IMF & US policy are partly to blame for what happened in the smaller Asian countries.
