Paul V, RE "Last night while channel surfing I saw a TV program talking about the lack of preparedness of the military for the y2k issue." One day when we were about to bomb Iraq for the first time my wife asked me to buy 2 sacks of 50 lbs Rice instead of one. Why, I asked. People are stockpiling because of war, she answered... It was funny but true, many Asians (who have painedfully experienced and so fearful of war) caused the temporary shortage of rice in the Bay Area at that time!... The Y2K problem is like a War about to happen --- many are so fearful about it. I will not be surprised if people especially Asians, as the New Century nears, will stockpile Food and other necessities ... including CHIPs! Actually,the head of LSI Will Corrigan said on CNBC this morning that Companies might hold inventories of CHIPs if they are afraid or Not sure there will be a disruption of supplies later on...
