Wierd! Read what I just got from Red Herring! Wrong!!!

Bloodbath on Nasdaq

It's quite shocking to come back from a meeting, go to your online
stock site, and see the entire column of tickers in red, like a
trickle of blood running down your monitor. Amazon down
$31.06, AOL down $23.88, Broadcast.com off $17.56, CMGI
down $46.88 -- and that's just the front of the alphabet!

What happened? A general rotation out of
tech stocks into more value-based global
blue-chips is one explanation. Simple market acrophobia might be another.

I had a great talk the acerbic Mark Laseau, editor of a site known
as Hoodwinked, on which he attempts to take the air out of overhyped technology stocks. Mr. Laseau is also of the opinion that the easy access entrepreneurs have to venture capital these days makes companies weak and dumb, the water buffalo of business.

Maybe today's reality check will snap some CEOs back to their senses. I'm pretty sure former Compaq CEO Eckhard Pfeiffer is
experiencing a heightened awareness of the market today.
