For drugs that have therapeutic alternatives on the marketplace, the target is 360 days. Yes I have heard that. Apparently HWC is also failing to meet there own targets continually due to manpower shortage and a certain level of compacency. This is, of course, dependent upon there being no deficiencies in the submission. If deficiencies are identified, the company is notified and is given 90 days to respond. During this time, the clock stops ticking...this response time is added to the normal 360 days. The defficiencies can be something as simple as a question or clarification of a moot point...and this still applies. They are also notorious for receiving a response quickly from the company and then waiting out the 90 days before actioning the file. The action may be another question or to act on the new information This is a buearacratic nightmare. If you complain some bureacrat throws your file into the corner. If you enquire as to the status, they say it is "in progress'. If you try to rush them they throw it into the corner. I really am going to talk to the House Whip(Don Boudria)as soon as I get all the information I need from the company! Its enroute! the Chief
