johnd, your analyses is flawed for many reasons. I am not going to spend my current moment of gleefulness educating a blind man who sees little as to why MSFT earnings release and forward looking prospects mean more to the market than SUNW or YHOO's recent performance.

If you think MSFT is headed to the mid $60s or low $70s level for a trading range in the near future, then you need to spend more time researching MSFT and the markets performance and less time posting on this Board.

Jd,

Yes, but that was when the NASDAQ was soaring and stocks were near their "all-time" highs, good news was factored into the stock prices.

THAT IS NOT THE CASE NOW!

I think you are wrong about .35 being a bad number. While they are certainly not blowout numbers, they are very solid, and is 10 percent higher than expectations. This along with the strong rally by the tech stocks today, may help boost the entire sector tommorow. I think the one thing that this report shows is that the demise of techs stocks was premature. Expect a solid day for all tech stocks tommorow.

15% looks like a small increase to me as well ... but I don't know how it will be received tomorrow
