Now do you seriously think that you will get an unbiased opinion by asking a bunch of e-trade shareholders. Pose the question on the AMTD board and see if the response is the same.

Greg,

I don't believe any of the online brokerages are difficult to deal with although there has been online internet problems over the several years I've had etrade. Options are easy to trade and the commissions are cheap compared to my former broker. I don't know why everyone doesn't use Etrade or at least an online discount broker. Why pay the big commissions. Yes transferring stock is easy also. Just get the forms and do it. They will help you with any questions you may have in filling them out. I don't know why everyone doesn't trade this way.
Oh, that has a familiar ring to it. If you need hand holding you've got us here at S.I.

Greg - you just fill out the on-line forms and mail it in. It takes about a week. Plus 10K on United (excellent promotion!)for your next spring break!

Fidelity is just too frustrating. When it is busiest they are at their worst. I get bumped off just before I am about to enter a trade and have to start over - it has cost me $$$$. If I continue to grow my trading business I will need the level II that is provided by EGRP. Can't get that on Fidelity!

Happy Trading!

Trevor

Greg... it should not be a problemm... it should be really easy...brokerage companies handle this stuff all the time. ..
I've used Fidelity for years (webexpress, options trading, and account interface to Quicken software ..... really great at tax-time)

but lo & behold... same stuff available from ETrade, plus MUCH better IPO offerings and some really great new things in the future coming from Etrade.

Everybody is saying you should have accounts with 2 brokers. The problem comes when you're trying to sell... not the buying...you have to sell where you've done the buy.... and if they're experiencing some type of glitch... you could feel that you've been handcuffed.
