I think that MSFT issuing a dividend would be VERY BAD! That would tell me that they don't have any better way to invest profits anymore. So far, they've been pretty good...

This will never happen because of their compensation model, i.e. the stock options. The employees would be furious, as a dividend provides no benefit to options holders.

As if Bill Gates needs the money? As the largest shareholders most of any dividend money would be paid to him, Paul Allen, Steve Ballmer, etc.

MSFT has a preferred stock (MSFTP) for those who want income from their MSFT investment. Don't expect a common dividend anytime soon.
