In a vibrant gold market such as existed a few years ago, here is what people would say about ARP:

8 million ounces x $75/oz x 60% x 1.5 (CDN) / 40m shares = CDN$13.50/share.

Alas, those good 'ol days are no more.

I'm not sure why Barrick isn't chomping at this. Maybe they just don't want to hand ARP THAT big a win. The whole world knows that Veladero is more valuable to Barrick than to Homestake.

Still, it's nice to see ARP stock at least beginning to trade closer to the offer price now that there isn't much time left on the Homestake bid.

Looks as though this is nearly finished.
