The street estimated 250Millions investment income for this Q. But MSFT had 720Millions investment income. As a result, the real earning for this Q is about 0.27 a share(assume there was 250Millions of investment income). Far less than the street's number. The street and the investors are looking for real rev. and earning growth instead of investment income growth. If the majority growth of EPS are from investment income, MSFT shall not enjoy this kind of high PE. I see MSFT's report quite negatively. Tomorrow, we may see a big sell of for the stock and the tech sector.
