the only way to make real $$ is via buy
> and hold.

Keep, it's buy the "right" ones and hold(so far the "real" money for me is via Intc, those shares are 6 years old.) For the net sector, Bill was early and has been right.

Amzn is too late, imho, so I will just take the opportunities to trade. Hopefully via trading, learning, and stay in touch, real opportunity will show up in this sector for me one day or in some ways.

KIS, You don't get it. You'd compare Amazon to the Deluge or the Apocalypse if it suited your purposes.

Come in from the cold. You're outnumbered by people who understand the issues and the scope of Amazon's future. And those are just the professionals.

It's warm in here, there are smiles, and the colors are bright. The roof my leak from time to time, but the building isn't going to get blown away.

>> Does this apply to investors in the Tokyo stock market in 1989?
(don't worry, I know you can't give an answer)<<

I CAN give an answer, and YES it does apply to investors in certain stocks, such as Sony and Honda and others incl. Softbank, which has amply rewarded its IPO investors. "Buy and Hold" investors of Japanese financial and cyclical stocks from 1989 have suffered huge losses, but more than a few Japanese stocks have appreciated considerably since the collapse of the bubble.
