Art,

Olympus has been providing excellent digital cameras and has a foot in the door due to its 35mm point-and-shoot cameras such as the Stylus and its variants. The digital cameras are intended to look just like the Stylus. The 600L and 620L are similar to some of their previous 35mm SLR cameras which I have never really liked (boxy, too much plastic, cumbersome).

I own Canon and Minolta SLR cameras. I think Canon has blown it with the PowerShot presentation. They have had excellent acceptance of their low cost 35mm SLR brands and they have failed to capitalize on this. Just one Agassi add with a digital Rebel or EOS and their sales go to the moon.

It makes you wonder sometimes.

Olympus is no slouch. They do things right, in my opinion.

Nikon is kicking ass.
