<<Don't these parents talk to their kids?>>

Unfortunately too many are too busy paying for bigger houses, nicer cars, and keeping up with the Jones to pay attention to those things that really matter. Time spent with your children is never wasted!

Sometimes I just have to step back and ask myself, do I have my priorities where they should be. I couldn't wait to get home today to hug my kids and tell them how much I loved them.

My prayers and thoughts go with those whose hearts and dreams where shattered today.

Joe

Hello Pals and welcome to Norma, Carolyn and Cisco Pals; been out all day and heading out again now so "hello I must be going" but wanted to quickly write to say that I heard about the terrible happenings at the school you mentioned on the radio earlier today, Blue, and did say some prayers and was thinking about what's been mentioned here on Techride today, too. When I first heard the report I held my breath for the half minute or so it took to hear the name of the town. So then I had to think "What if the name of the town had been my town, and it were my daughter trapped in that school and so here I am The Mom minding my own business driving along and then hearing such a thing on the radio?" I knew there had been parents hearing of it the same way. And My heart and prayers been going out all day to those kids, teachers, police, and parents who have had to deal with the sudden entry of such Evil into their lives. Blue, I hope your friend came through it fine and commend all who put their lives on the line to help others. Right now my daughter and I are heading out the door to see her guitar teacher play a show. She wouldn't be doing such a thing but every day risks victimization, as do we all. All our lives are different from the lives of the heartbroken people who will be forever shattered by this event tonight. This could have been my kid, or us or any of us tonight heartbroken like these families. I wish there was some way to figure how events like this could be halted. Still praying, will write again later.
Joan

Blue, your thoughts are the same ones that have been on my mind all evening. My main thought has been
HOW COULD THESE PARENTS HAVE NO CLUE WHAT WAS GOING ON. I could scream.
I have a 14 year old. An incredible kid. And it took an enormous amount of love, caring, hard work and listening and talking constantly - on both of our part to get here. It was no picnic, either. The parents of these kids were just too selfish to give them the time and non-judgemental understanding that they so needed. And the hate and racism is usually learned from the parents, in my opinion.

And no way canst thou turn thee for redress,
But death doth front thee with apparent spoil
And pale destruction meets thee in the face.

Open Thy gate of mercy, gracious God!
My soul flies through these wounds to seek out Thee.
-- Shakespeare.

Blue, Joana, Susan, and other Techride pals,
This is particularly distracting and disturbing to me. I woke-up at about 5pm this evening to hear the news. I couldn't believe it when I heard the name of the town, "Littleton". At this point, the story became a personal issue because my older sister, and her daughters (my nieces) live in Littleton. Two of my nieces are of high school age. At this point, I still haven't been able to reach my sister by phone, so I don't know how closely this has hit the family. For all I know, my nieces may not even go to that school (I assume there is more than 1 high school in Littleton).
Anyway, I'm working to find out what is going on with my sister and her girls, and will let my techride friends here know what I find out. Thank you for your prayers.
-Joe
