I agree with you totally.. you probably know more than most how many of these needy countries could really be helped by rise in gold and gold mining activities..(hadn't so many countries changed mining laws in the nineties to make it friendlier to exploration countries) what I guess can we expect from punch drunk bankers? I also wonder if it is also because they are worried about the european currency and want to trash everything.. also they may start worrying that interest rates are headed higher and they don't want to give it any fuel since so many still look at gold as an indicator for inflation
