Good Evening Everyone:
I'm new to the board but have been "lurking" for some time. I finally decided to join the board as I do have some questions and Keith Massey kindly pointed out that no question is to dumb. I have been trying to "make money" at day-trading since January and feel I have finally turned a corner and it is because of many of the people on this board and I thank you all.

I have been in and out of Dion (DIO), American Gem (GEM), Sydicated Brands (SBX) and Global Thermoelectric (GLE) recently and managed to make some money on each. I, of course have also had some failures, Loewen Funeral Homes, comes to mind. I thought I'd died!

I have also been extremely surprized at some stocks, like Bid.Com, and simply sat om my hands in amazement as they took off and I said to myself, this is going to crash and burn. Wrong, wrong, wrong!

Tomorrow I am watching Global, Bid.Com, ATY and Buckey John's favourite Nuisco (NWI), "may ther be nickol in them thar holes."

Best wishes to all those giving this day-trading a shot as a "living".

Special thanks and hello to The Chief, Keith Massey, Steelguy and Buckey John. Your analysis has been most helpful and I appreciate your taking the time to "teach".

Regards,

Cian

To answer your questions

1. A broker told me that he had received an Email from the mutual fund saying that they had bought a position in GLE.

2. The stock will be halted before any significant news just like it was last Friday.

3. The last trade before last Friday's halt was around $5 I believe and it opened at $10. I suggest therefore that it makes sense to buy now or perhaps a bit lower before the next halt and new dissemination.

As the Chief says we need news. If you can cast your mind back last Friday's news came out prematurely, negotiations were not complete but people were becoming aware that something was up with Delphi which as we know was big, very big. More meat will no doubt be forthcoming relatively soon. I would rather buy @ $7.65 and watch it go to $7, than not be in when the next halt comes. What if it is halted at the open tomorrow. Who knows?
