David ---

Shipping plays a roll in where I buy components ...
I try to purchase as much as possible from the same supplier, but the bottom line rules ...

here are the places from which I bought the parts from the list I sent to Mark ---

Axion Technologies --- Creative Sound Blaster Sound Card, Altex Lansing Speakers, Lucent Modem, Encore Network Card, Iomega Zip Drive.

Black Lab --- ABIT BH6 MB.

Buy.Com --- AOC 17inch 1600x1200 Monitors

Comp U Plus --- ATI Video Cards, Sony Floppy Drive, Mitsumi CD-ROM.

First Choice Memory --- 128mg SDRAM PC100.

Local Box Builder where I live --- 400mz Celeron, CPU fan, Case fan, Keyboard, and Case

Multiwave Technologies --- Seagate Medalist 6.4mg HD.

Tiger Direct --- Iomega Ditto Tape Drive, Genius Wheel Mouse.

Across the board, the shipping will cost me about the same as the sales tax here in Texas ....

Shopping search engines ---- Bottom Dollar, CNet, Computer Shopper, KillerApp, Price Scan, and Price Watch are the ones I use the most --- make shopping fast, easy, and price saving and sometimes the vendor will match prices (when you ask) from another vendor (when you have a fairly sizable order working) and this saves on shipping, too.
