It would be nice, but in my experience, the would-be Microsoft competitors seem to trip over themselves to distance themselves from Apple.

I could have made the same argument several years ago about Netscape and Apple, Sun and Apple (Java), etc, but in the end, nothing came of it.

Hey soup,

my respects to you. i've been reading your posts for months. i'm an apple user since 84. you guys are all trying to push up the stock price, coming up with all kinds of good reasons for it to go up.
well, it's useless. because it's human nature, the bell curve.
the best analogy of it is the cockaroach-vs-RAIDspelledMICROSOFT-analogy. no self-respecting cockaroach is going to face that spray can for APPLE anymore. Oh sure, they'll go for LINUX, RNMK up what 40? today, but AAPL is not CNBC approved.
It goes deeper than this because apparantly it's human nature to follow the propoganda machine. You guys are all exceptions proving the rule. And the longer I follow the stock market the more it looks like it's tied to our glands.
Best thing is to play AAPL like a ho-hum utility stock; of course the utilities are acting like growth stocks. And make your money on the .coms.
