Just an observation some threaders may be interested in. When you're a small company (less than $50M in revenues) and are planning an IPO, substantially all forward momentum in your core business comes to a halt.

Why?

As we all know, there's a great deal more stature to say "I'm working on the IPO", "I'm having lunch with our lawyers", "I'm pressing the accountants for the reports we need", "I'm going to Kinko's to pick up the draft of our SS-1", than there is in dodging vendors who are late being paid and taking the phone calls of disgruntled customers who are wondering when their mortgages might be funded.

The Finet guys certainly have been busy doing something with their time, and they've got to be grateful that there are some individuals who are willing to take it on faith that merely the expectation of an IPO, the rumor of an acquisition, or the announcement of an INet intention will cure a host of their operating ailments.

Well, hey, maybe they could hire someone who knew how to log onto a computer and write exciting copy to be the head of their IR Department.

Where shareholders are concerned, more information and disclosure is better than less and IMO these guys have done a splendid (?) job of keeping alot of relevant facts from seeing the light of day.
