Permission for NATO planes to fly over Switzerland refused GENEVA, April 8th (Beta-Itar-Tass) - The Swiss government revealed tonight that NATO planes involved in the aggression on FR Yugoslavia, have not been granted permission to fly over the country. Last week official Bern received a request from NATO for the use of the Swiss air space concerning its use by aircraft involved in support of the western alliance. Switzerland could not meet the requirements made by NATO generals, since it would jeopardize its neutral country status, miming the stand assumed by Austria.
