More Goldman/EGRP speculation.

zdnet.com

Goldman Sachs, according to independent analyst Irv deGraw, is buying up online retail distribution through its investments in online brokerage Wit Capital and electronic trading network Archipelago. But the quickest way to reach the retail investor is to buy an online broker, deGraw said. He suspects E*Trade, which also holds an investment in Archipelago, will be the choice.

Officials at E*Trade, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch and Schwab either could not be reached for comment or refused to comment on possible mergers and acquisitions.

" Of the nine biggest online brokers, three -- Datek, Fidelity and Ameritrade(Nasdaq:AMTD - news) -- pay significantly below-market taxable interest rates on"

E, I have stated this on this thread many times. It is just one example of EGRP vs AMTD, apples to apples I was getting 4.7% (EGRP) vs 3.0% (AMTD).
