Virtual integration is just one aspect of Dell's Model. Business process innovation goes to the heart of every aspect of business from the top to the bottom: business organization, supplier, production, customer, finance, the whole universe of business aspects. For example, in the product segment, service processes must be re-engineered (take "Ask Dudley," or the use of email to service, etc.).

The point I am attempting to rant and rave about is that these processes are grown over time with focus, some are thrown out and begun afresh. Chuzz has shown the great depth (and time) that T. Meredeth went through to change the focus of everyone, top to bottom, to ROIC & CCC.

This is what people wave their hands at when they say "Dell is great at execution," all we need is some new CEO who is good at execution and the internet.

CPQ needs a new board and five years of hard work.
