Ed,

we talked some time ago about the stock entering a danger period when they first bring products to market and are judged on the basis of what they actually sell and earn, and not just fantasies about what they could do, if everything goes right. Selling on Xopenex approval in retrospect was obviously a good move, if you don't mind the taxes. But I recall you were similarly skeptical around New Year's, when you wanted to do some option strategy that assumed a sideways trend. Granted, the price is now about the same as it was then, but we did hit 140 in between then and now. I think you (and maybe Sturza) have been in the stock for so long, and have such good gains, that you decided some time ago just to protect them, even if it means missing out on the next move up.

Wish I'd sold some at the top, especially since I have a downpayment on a house to make, but I've had good luck so far not fooling with success. When I bought SEPR, I planned to hold until they either proved to be a sham, or developed into a significant player in the industry. The stock has come a lot further than I ever thought possible, but it's still not valued as a mature company yet (unlike the internuts, which have market caps suggesting they are already huge established enterprises).

As far as SEPR being dead money, we may end up the year right where we started, at 90, but I doubt it will be a boring ride!

Good luck and my guess is you'll be glad you held those LEAPS.

PS: Mazen, not sure SEPR will follow AMGN this morning, don't forget AMGN was up 8 points or about 12% yesterday, so it's not surprising that attracted a little selling.

RE Sturza/SEPR: I subscribed to Sturza for several years. One thing I noticed about their price targets: if the company was a leader, the stock price hit or exceeded Sturza's year-end target within a VERY SHORT TIME after he published it. If the company was not going to be as successful, you could wait a long winter in the netherregions before it hit that target...if ever. I'm not terribly patient, and not interested in actually losing capital--but that's another story.

They are also good at picking entry points when those entry points are solidly grounded in fundamentals, which to me explains their most recent stand on SEPR. They signaled an entry point for Biogen a while back that was VERY useful.

Regards and good luck
