There are too many eager journalists, in television, radio, print and now online for an administration to "hide" the truth.

If the administration had that kind of power, don't you think they would have covered up the Monica Lewinsky scandal?

Hey, but if you're right, you'd better watch out, or the big bad government will be knocking on your door and sending you off in an alien spaceship so you don't let out any more of their secrets...

You got your Presidents wrong. Nixon promised to get us out of Viet Nam and did. It was JFK and LBJ and their idiot Sec.Def. McNamara that waged that stupid effort. With the exception of Bush it's Dems. that take us to war. Nixon was a lot of things but don't hang VN on him. The difference between VN and now is that the flower children are now the senders and not the sent so they have become hawks.

NAh, you're right . The press can't be controlled. i guess you weren't around in the 60's. There happened to be this little war called
VIETNAM. Check the damn history books, 55,000 americans died and hundred of thousands were wounded . The public was never told as the media was crushed by the Johnson and Nixon administrations to conceal
the number of fatalities. How naive are you?

You still smoking that stuff? Your post doesn't deserve a response, but it sure is fun.

Did you hear about Watergate, by the way? The press..

I did not realize that the government was controlling the press in relation to MSFT earnings. Now that is alarming!

By the way, we were told about the fatalities in VN. What we weren't told is how badly the war was going and that we had bombed Cambodia. That's in the history books. What you said isn't, because you are revising history. <eom>
