Well yes. Of course. But I think the tendency will be to try and push the thing away. Surely it will not stay away. Indeed when it raises its ugly head it likely will assault us with surprising force, simply because we did not slay it when we should have. But our future impressions of Clinton are only a part of the overall transaction. There needs to be a reconstruction of our views concerning law, morality and the role of the president. There needs to be an evaluation of our own action amidst the debacle. These things are not likely to happen anytime soon.
