Singapore, April 21 (Bloomberg) -- Compaq Computer Corp.'s Asia Pacific region personal computer sales are improving, the first turnaround in about a year, the Asian Wall Street Journal reported, citing Compaq's vice president and Asia-Pacific managing director Paul Tan. Compaq's Asia-Pacific division is looking to develop electronic commerce more aggressively in a bid to gain a foothold in the Internet market. No changes are in the pipeline for Compaq's business in Asia following the recent ouster of the company's former chief executive Chief Executive Eckhard Pfeiffer, the paper said.

Shares of Compaq, the world's No.1 maker of personal computers, rose 1 1/4 to 24 Tuesday.
