Thread:
BRCM 1Q Results are blowout IMO. 5 cent is a significant surprise. The only "negative" thing I will keep watching is gross margin erosion and cost control. Continuing pricing pressure is part of life in this biz, so the focus should be how the co. manages the decline, not the decline as such.

Current EPS consensus is $.59 for 12/99. This IMO will prove too low: in 98, BRCM earned more or same in every 4 qtrs., so $.80 is more likely figure for '99... Just my personal guess, maybe margin erosion takes away a bit, but still, I would expect EPS estimates to be revised upwards over the next few weeks. As the guy said, top line growth is the story.

Anybody can post the phone no. for the conf call replay?

Thanks,
Thomas

Why on EARTH?

Because as I've stated before competition is heating up.
Now maybe they are able to work their way around it...time will tell.

Too big of gap here today (74+)....maybe I'll short it for a flip...maybe I'll buy the dip. Depends on how things go with the NDX.

Keith...85 might be the ticket.
congrats again,,,,
