IPVoice.com Acquires 10-10-460 AvailableNationwide

April 21, 1999 09:57 AM
LITTLETON, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 21, 1999--IPVoice.com IPVC announced Tuesday, April 13, 1999, the acquisition of Independent Network Services (INS) a switchless reseller of long distance telephone service based in Phoenix, which owns the carrier identification code 10-10-460.

This provides IPVoice.com ability to enter into the multi-million dollar "Dial-around" long distance market, which is currently dominated with dial around providers such as 10-10-321 and 10-10-220 (Telecom USA, owned by MCIWorldcomm) and 10-10-345 (Lucky Dog Phone Co., owned by AT&T), and opens up future products and services being developed for the domestic marketplace.

INS will become a wholly owned subsidiary of IPVC. Barbara S. Will, chairperson and COO of IPVC, said: "The acquisition of INS provides IPVC with tariffs and certifications in 45 of the contiguous 48 states that will make IPVC fully compliant with FCC regulations. INS also brings with it a carrier identification code (CIC) of 10-10-460. Peter Stazzone, INS current president will remain on board as the president and CEO and will also be IPVoice.com's CFO."

With the acquisition of 10-10-460, IPVoice.com can diversify into three distinct multi-billion dollar long distance markets: the dial around, traditional long distance markets and the rapidly growing Voice over the Internet markets. "We want to be able to offer each customer a full range of long distance options that best meets their need and budget," said Barbara Will. "In the future some may switch their carriers to us, others may want the convenience of the 10-10-460 dial around while most will want the low cost Voice over the Internet product.

"Now that we have built the foundation of our product line, we are finalizing relationships with key partners to build strong distribution channels concurrently with our multi-phase advertising campaign. We expect to have announcements early next week on distribution channels and partnerships," said Will.

Barbara Will, president and chairperson of IPVoice.com spent 11 years in a senior capacity with MCI and was responsible for signing some of the largest contracts with a carrier/reseller in MCI's history. Will has over 20 years of experience in all areas of telecommunications, domestic and international.
