Or things are moving really fast and they take only a portion of them at a time. If the price is moving really fast you can bet the bulk of your shares will sell at the bottom. If you are using etrade, using a market order, you can also bet that it is going to take a long time to fill and with etrade I have had trouble trying to cancel a trade. Selling when it is moving really fast is a good way to lose your butt. Also I believe that if you sell at the wrong time you will be playing right into the MM's hands allowing them to walk the price down if that is there desire. IF the longs do not have steady hands how do we ever get away from volatility?
