AR, on CNN and CNBC, the "buy-hold-sell" gurus are given a list of the stocks in advance. That's why they are so knowlegable. Thought you knew that.

I listen to stock talk shows on the radio, the "gurus" frequently say that they don't follow a particular stock. Sometimes if the caller is very persistent, they will look it up on computer and shoot from the hip, but you can tell that they are shooting from the hip.

That is exactly what I said to my mom when she called. She was upset about the shooting- and I said "But mom- its only 25, think how many have been killed in Kosovo" And she said "Yes, but this one.." And I finished her sentence (I do that, I am annoying in person too) and I said "this one is "real" because its American kids". Now I grant you the school shooting is awful- but its a tiny statistical sample of kids that are killed in mass shootings at schools- Not meaningful if it is YOUR kid- but still- in this age of rapid communication we are hit with every tragedy from everywhere instantaneously- and the media goes on and on and on about them in a way they did not used to.
