I knew it! As for me, I was neither fish nor fowl in school. I did well scholastically and was in all the accelerated learning programs but was also quite active in sports (football, raquetball and baseball). I hung out with neither crowd and when I wasn't studying or practicing, my grandparents generally pressed me into service in their restaurant operation. I was bussing tables almost as soon as I could carry a plate. Later on I got to work in the kitchen with my grandmother on the prep side. I still cook for my family every Sunday. My wife won't let me cook more often because she says we'll all end up weighing 400 lbs. Anyway, having spent most of my childhood in the company of older people, I became feisty in my tender years and like a good cheddar, I've gotten sharper with age. <VBG> JLA
