The scope of the joint program includes development of a high-capacity WCDMA Radio Access Network optimization technology and radio network planning and measurement tools. Nokia will develop end-to-end WCDMA network systems, management tools, customer services and mobile terminals to operators worldwide. By combining the expertise of these two leading telecommunications companies, WCDMA radio access network technology can be optimised to create a system solution designed to serve growing multimedia data traffic in the most cost-effective manner.
