victor...In defining a strategy to the market CPQ can look at what went wrong as well. A successful strategy is a plan, of linked events that work in harmony, that shape the engagements how CPQ will act. (internally and externally).... Is it possible that Pfeiffer's failure to harmoniously link the individual entities of the strategy was part of the problem? A proper risk analysis would have given indications. The trio or new CEO has to link the chain of individual stratgies, that CPQ has presently, and create a synergy among them. When the chain is broken even successful individual strategies and actions are turned into meaningless entities in achieving the overall objective. The 5 major elements of a strategy must now be analyzed and properly integrated by the trio. Morale - psychological and intellectual qualities and influences of the individuals who will execute the strategy. Physical - composition of the assets and resources available to CPQ (directly or indirectly) during the execution of the strategy. Mathematical - the line of operation....logistical, convergent and divergent movements in strategy. (ie. direct vs indirect sales) Geographical - physical location of interested territory for strategy.....(ei. sales and mfg...sourcing etc.) Statistical - support and maintenance, actual production capacity. Once the above is evaluated and harmoniously incorporated into the CPQ strategy using a clearly defined objective, the trio must concisely present it to the investment community.
