I suspect you are right IF IBM will be making the parts.

I doubt they can get to 600 Mhz with Portland fab.

Maybe some kind of PR 600 - but not a real 600 Mhz speed.

My speculation is that IBM/Cyrix may have revived their foundry relationship and that's leading to the speculation that IBM is buying Cyrix. Much more likely is that they do wafer foundry for Cyrix.

It would be a win/win relationship as long as IBM is not selling the parts in competition with Cyrix like the last fiasco that happened.
