Mike:

Thats because the people selling them are taking money from a baby <g> (Ok a big baby) As we all know, stocks only go up and when they go down, everyone will have plenty of warning. I figure a few more of these "down" head fakes, and everyone will have all their money "at work" Then when it goes down, their will be no one left to buy on the dips. Doesnt appear as if we are there yet. imo

MB et al,

Did you see the IBM numbers? Earned $1.55 vs est $1.41. Not bad until one looks more closely at the numbers. Revenues are up nicely, ~14% I believe, but profits are up 50%. That's not quite kosher, right? Gross margins are down virtually across the board which also is kinda funny given the increase in earnings. So, where's the beef? Tax rate is down (32 % to 30%) and the number of shares are down. Long term debt is up. I think those are the salient pieces of info. So all in all, I don't think the report is as good as the earnings number initially indicates, but the question is how will the Street respond. My guess is that it'll be up 'cause all that people will see is that the earnings were significantly above the estimates.
Your view?

Steve

mike and all, does anybody have the article bookmarked that showed unit sales were up 1%? i hate to ask as i'm irritated that others who don't do research and aren't aware of what is going on question reality and demand sources they already should know.

prove 2+2 is 4. ;-(

however, someone might have easy access to it w/o digging much.

tia...

To All, Portfolio notes: 1. I rolled down my May 40 MU puts to May 35s.

2. I bought some Dell May 40 puts. I am at about a half position now on this dog with fleas.

3. Ancor be lookin' good today.

4. I liked Incyte's quarterly report, but the market hates it. I think this presents a buying opportunity, so I am buying a second third here. The reason for a loss is moving R&D inhouse instead of using the tracking stock scam. I think INCY has enough confidence in their R&D to want all the benefits kept in house.
