Don, re: short covering: that's definitely playing a role today. but in several stocks it will take a while to exhaust the short positions, as they are huge. as a for instance: 53% of cnet's float is currently short. 66% of ubid's float is short. etc.

regards,

hb

Short-term lower highs in the nets absolutely. But more than short-covering here. Back more than 50% from Monday's net losses.
AOL's earnings will be important. But time remains on the nets side. Addig somethinglike 200,000 viewers a day. Cheap PC's will accelerate that growth. Sure it will be volotile but still I'd rather own AOL longterm than almost any other blue chip I can think of despite it's lofty PE. The real value is not earnins but power, control and potential. It's mind-boggling. Just think of how far the net has grown in the last year. Therefore, while I'm more cautious than some I do buy on steep dips. The nets always seem to come back strong.
