Trevor,

I'm always amused by people who read a post that says "this kinda reminds me of ___" only to pounce with "that was completely different". No, the Ciena deal was not _completely_ different. Clearly it wasn't exactly the same either, but there are parallels. If you'll re-read my comments, you should find that I was talking about after the TLAB offer fell through. Ciena traded way down after that. But it did trade back up to nearly $30 recently on more takeover rumors. Then when they announced their dual acquisitions, the air began to quickly deflate from Ciena's balloon, although it did take a bit longer to get nearly chopped in 1/2 than I had expected.

The analogy does apply to FORE to a certain extent -- as I said, the Ciena events "KINDA" remind me of FORE. As to the FORE runup being based on potential merger, how in god's green earth can you not see that takeover rumors are driving FORE stock right now? Have been since the low teens. Also, I suppose we agree on the effects of a standard denial as well. I clearly think that it would send FORE reeling downward. How long it would stay there is uncertain, but down she would go, and a good bit to.
