Your statement is HIGHLY misleading.

I quote the relevant passage below. NSOL still charging 70 to customers for 2 year domain name rights. The $9 is a renewal fee charged for each domain name renewed through AOL and other ICANN accredited registrars which you referred to. and you failed to mention the $18 fee paid to NSOL for each initial 2 yr domain name registration.

"During the 60-day shared registration testbed period, five initial registrars will be able to register the popular .com, .net and .org
domain names and work with Network Solutions' technical personnel to fully test the functioning of Network Solutions' newly-built
Shared Registry System. Network Solutions will charge the new registrars $18 per Web address for each initial two-year period
and $9 for one-year renewals during this 60-day period."

The NSOL charges appear to be independent of what the registrars charge the domain name purchaser and it is unclear as to who bears the cost of the Internic fee. I assume the purchaser.

I strongly suggest that you just post the URL if you do not want to take the time to summarize accurately. too many people just read the summary and would presume NSOL revenue was drying up when in fact its sources are only changing (eg:advertising, service, etc)

When is the $9/yr test period? I just bought a domain yesterday. NSOL bills me directly so hopefully I'll get a bill for $18 for 2 years instead of 70 bucks.
