Geoff:

Try this spot for some nice numbers for MSS and satellite data overview. mckinseyquarterly.com

Does not go down to individual markets but it is compelling.

Geoff, as with any investment, the demand question will always be there. mmeggs did a good job. Hell, Dell has been the best investment of the 1990s and every quarter someone says they can't keep up the growth rate/PCs are dead. Jeez, this is a tough thread. I don't see the Internut threads focusing on year 2002 earnings (because there won't be any) or the fiber threads analyzing dark fiber capabilities down to the Ph.D. minutia as on the G* thread (hey, I've been loving' the tutorial -- don't get me wrong).

It is mid-4/99, I* is stumbling (as the smart money (i.e., GE/Soros) expected), and G* starts rolling out its service in 9-10/99. I* with its $1.40/minute breakeven has always been aimed at a different market.

In an article I posted last night, it stated that China has a 1-2% cellular penetration rate. G* system can be filled by China alone in the next 3-4 years. I'm with Maurice -- bring on the G-2 2nd generation system. djane

P.S. I also appreciate the info/opinions you bring to the thread.
