Racso: Exactly...in the case of an acquisition...remember that mkt segment will increase for whomever. Think about it...if you have a business that has 10% of the mkt and you desire to increase your presence to 20% you'll pay a price for such. No need to put your own money in R&D,MKT, etc...all of this will come to you from an acquisiton. It is all a matter of "how much" you are willing to pay vs the "time" to reach the same point if you go it alone! It is the preservation of "capital" and the maximizing of it that is the "focal" point! Pentration of the market when one does not have the "expertise" can be less expensive by acquisiton than "brick by brick" construction of your own. The "bricks" being...qualified personnel...factory construction....on and on. These can pose to be a difficult problem...especially when qualified individuals are in "demand" and will want big $$$ to help you "sail your boat"!
