TV onthe WEB Brings the Broadway to the Internet With a LIVE Webcast Of Opening Night Festivities Surrounding the Premiere of 'Civil War'

www.tvontheweb.com to Carry Broadway Celebrity Arrivals and One-on-One

Interviews with Cast and VIP Guests

NEW YORK, April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- TV onthe WEB, a strategic partner of the Ampex Corporation (Amex: AXC), will carry live, simultaneous Webcasts tomorrow night, April 22nd , of the opening celebrations surrounding the Broadway premiere of "The Civil War," the highly anticipated new Broadway musical composed by Frank Wildhorn, on www.tvontheweb.com and www.civilwarbroadway.com.

TV on the WEB's coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. from Broadway's St. James Theater and resumes at 9:00pm ET and continues until approximately 11pm from nearby Roseland, the famous New York nightclub where the official Opening Night Cast Party will be held.

The curtain will go up at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow night with TV onthe WEB in New York City live and on camera to capture and share with its viewers all the glitter and glamour of the eagerly-anticipated new musical. Site visitors can log on and see the star-studded guests as they arrive for the premiere at the newly restored St. James Theatre, located on 44th Street in the heart of legendary Times Square. With the opening of "Civil War," Frank Wildhorn becomes the only American composer in 20 years to have three shows running simultaneously on Broadway: among his other credits are the hits "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and "Jekyll & Hyde."

"Tomorrow night's webcasts of the opening festivities further demonstrate the entertainment industry's embrace of the Internet," said Tim Swift, president and co-CEO of the Reston, VA-based TV onthe WEB. "Now, through the magic of video streaming on the Web, audiences around the world can participate in the festivities surrounding the musical's premiere."

Immediately followiing the final curtain, TV on the WEB will also take site visitors to the Opening Night Party at Roseland, which will be transformed that evening into a themed-setting -- "Fort Roseland." The Webcast will feature exclusive interviews with the show's stars and writers as well as with featured celebrity guests and famous faces in the crowd.

Pierre Cossette, a co-producer of "The Civil War," and the veteran producer of the Grammy Awards Telecast, said he was "thrilled to have TV on the WEB make it possible for thousands of people to attend what is otherwise a very exclusive event. After all," he added, "only 1,300 or so invited guests can sit in the St. James Theater and claim to have been to the historic Opening Night. The Webcast now makes it possible to share the Opening Night excitement with countless number of guests." Added Scott Zeiger, President of PACE Theatricals, and Co-Producer of "The Civil War," "this new technology is remarkable in the opportunities it opens up to us both as producers and presenters of commercial theater across America. There are few events in live entertainment that can compare with being at a big Broadway opening. And let's face it ... how many people are that fortunate? Webcasts such as this allow us to vividly convey the excitement and immediacy of being right there for something that is very special, indeed."

"The Civil War," written by Frank Wildhorn, Gregory Boyd and Jack Murphy, is a musical saga that takes audiences beyond the bugle calls and the battlefields to tell the real story. It is directly inspired by the actual wartime correspondence of soldiers and slaves, generals and Presidents, wives and mothers and is filled with the passion, idealism, turmoil and heroism of the men and women who defined a nation at a time when honor was something worth fighting for and freedom a cause worth dying for.

TV onthe WEB is recognized worldwide for its full-service LIVE Webcasting production capabilities -- arriving on location with lights, cameras, computers and connectivity to broadcast events LIVE over the World Wide Web.
