For someone who is crazy you sure right some good posts<ggg> I also like you posts on the ADSN site.

Now that the quarters are out I feel safer buying in again at the near present prices. With cost under control ANC could easily have .02-.10 earnings this year if there new product catch on. The insiders must have been buying for some reason and I am sure they wouldn't have sold into the recent run or the commissions would be all over them.

Best Regards
KEITH

Hi All : News from today's AGM

Well, I basically dropped everything this morning and went to the AGM. I am glad I did. First of all, the best part was to talk face to face to the directors of the company. You get a much better feel than what you read (or do not read) in the press releases. I have always found it very valuable to hear the tone of one's speech to be able to understand how much one believes in what he preaches.

After a quick run of formal AGM rituals, Eric Apps (the President) made a very detailed and long presentation about the company, their products, the financial situation and future prospects. It is too bad I do not have a soft copy of the powerpoint presentation, but I am sure if you write to the company they will probably e-mail one. It is 33 pages and extremely useful.

So, contrary to what is typically done at these AGMs, Angoss's meeting was geared towards giving as much technical and financial information to the shareholders as possible. I was really impressed.

OK, let me get to the issues. Here is briefly the important FACTS that I am noting from Eric's presentation and from some of his answers to the questions including mine ;

First of all he made a reference to the PP rumors on the SI StockTalk, and said that there is no such thing in the works, that they do not need a PP to survive, and that they will only consider it when the conditions are right. This put to rest my fears that they might be forced to do a PP at an undesirable price.

 The insiders have been buying company shares lately and now they own about 15 % of the outstanding shares.

 The Trifox litigation ; they have rejected a Trifox offer to settle this issue since it was an insignificant r offer. They are prepared to take them to the ground if they have to unless they come up with a better settlement. But they do not expect a settlement anywhere near the $4 million plus, which they were awarded.

 In response to my question ; they are about 20 people at Angoss, 7 of them developers. They pay them fair market salary, offer stock option plan. Eric believes that the biggest reason their developers are happy to be with the company, is that they are working on a rather sophisticated and challenging software, and this is a big job satisfaction for them. I was rather impressed that a small company like this can produce such a sophisticated application and can count IBM , SAS as their primary competitors. I can now understand why their gross margin is so high.

 Data mining market is estimated to reach $1 Billion by year 2003 and most of it is “up for grabs”

 Y2K investments of many firms are holding them back from spending money on other investments, and starting from the 3rd Q of this year and into 2000, there wil be significant opportunities for Angoss.

 Their product is priced at about 10-20 % of SAS applications

 Exceptional customer base ( you all know this anyway) and strong case studies. Here is few examples of these case studies.. THIS IS TO ME EXTREMELY IMPORTANT ; ( and it is really impressive)

1) ANGOSS technology was used by a major int'l investment bank who experienced significant losses on investment on derivatives with write-offs in excess of $800 M
2) ANGOSS technology was successfully deployed to identify unknown factors relevant to potential loan defaults (A Canadian chartered bank)
3) Eight of top ten credit card issuers in the USA use ANGOSS technology (this is music to my ears…unbelievable)
4) ANGOSS technology was used to analyse shoplifting patterns at a UK retailer
5) RR Donnely, one of the largest publishing businesses in the USA used ANGOSS s/w to isolate key factors causing production downtime.
6) A “Big 6” accounting firm deployed ANGOSS technology during a DD on a company , uncovering potential material misstatements and resulting in corrections to the financing documents

 Knowledge STUDIO will continue to raise barriers to entry !! (Very confident statement)

 Focus on key partnerships but “show me the money”.. ( this shows how strong their product line is , how confident the Mgmt is)

 Annual maintenance agreements (20 %) will start contributing significantly to the revenues

 Knowledge Excelarator ( works with MS Excel), Knowledge Access( MS Access add-on) and Knowledge Xplorer (Internet based data mining) will be available in 1999.

I tried to be as objective as possible and just tried to pass on the info to all of you. If you need to read more, please do yourselves a favour and write to them to get a copy of the full 33 page presentation. I am already tired of typing.

Good Luck to all….
