Same here. A lot of stupid moves over the last couple of years followed by reading the Gorilla Game, bookmarking this thread, and finally selling almost everything to buy QCOM last week.

Many Mahalo's to Uncle Frank, Mike Buckley, LindyBill and the many others who helped me rearrange my investment strategy.

posting here has crystallized my thinking

EXACTLY!

On the other hand, the gems of info that I get from others do make an overwhelming difference in my knowledge base.

but the real thrill is finally being RIGHT! , after all the dumb moves I have made in the last 7 years

Lindy, if you're looking for competition in the dumb-moves category, I guarantee that I'll win the contest! Just when I thought I was becoming a really great investor, my portfolio went down 23% last year when the S&P went up 27%. It didn't do much for my ten-year returns, but despite that debacle I'm still ahead of the S&P for the last ten years.

The single most important thing I've learned in the last three years is that we can make terrible, terrible mistakes. But if we stick to fundamental values and a system over the long term, the mistakes don't become devastating. Just the opposite, they become minor blips by comparison.
