Shares that are not tendered are immediately converted upon closing into shares of a dummy corp set up by CA and then you're cashed out as that corp is merged with CA--or something like that. You get paid 29 1/4 regardless. The discount is widening a bit here because the Dept of Justice has requested more documents from CA and Plat. This is a common delay tactic by DOJ since they can't complete a review within the statutory period (30 days, I think) and a second request stops the clock from running. So while it does not put the deal into jeopardy (at least I hope not), it does extend the time that your money will be tied up in PLAT by 30-60 days until June or July (my estimate). If you have better things to do with your money than 20% in 3-4 months, then you don't buy PLAT. Hence, a slight dip in PLAT. It's a rational market reaction. For example, today I made 26% in dsl service provider Rhythms (RTHM). I still have some $$$ in PLAT though.
