Yup, I hoped that they had a better way, but I didn't really expect that Schwab would make a difference; they told my I'm "Platinum" now as I've made 164 trades since 1/1/99; thats almost $5K for a service that is not much better than a crapshoot; I too enjoy a nice Pinot and I think I'll be taking my trading business down the street; If I have to struggle with the vagaries of I-net trading, I might as well be paying $5 or $10 a trade, like with Datek or Brown, which have been recommended here. Then I can spend the difference on vino.
Take care,
James

Hi Judy,..Re:. Schwab Platinum sucked today

Welcome back. Hope you had an enjoyable vacation.

You might look at DLJ. I've used them for about 14 months now and using their software, trades seem to get processed quickly. Also, if DLJ is a market maker, trades are processed instantly unless using low ball prices.

When I first changed to DLJ (from AGE), their servers were slow and I sent them e-mail every single day for about two months complaining. Well, they apparently had other complaints and have updated their equipment. I use net trading and have an ISDN line which is fast anyway. Haven't had any problems for months logging on or getting trades done. They do have a long wait if you use the phone though. <g>

Good going on your trades,

Lee
