you are pleased that you can "place a phone trade" at 9:45 yet displeased that the broker "hangs up on you." understand that some people, especially [very] busy people, consider hanging up ending a conversation, without the usual social amenities such as "have a nice day." by cutting the conversation short, the broker is giving someone else a few extra seconds to "place a phone order" at 9:46. yes, it's weird when you're used to your social conventions, but some people [maybe new yorker's in general], end telephone calls with a 'click' instead of a 'goodbye.'
