Good. That is why they are getting out of PC's too. That is why they lost several fortunes last year on PC's. Take a look at MUEI and how well they are doing.

Besides how many chips does MU sell to IBM? Since they make their own it would have no impact on MU at all.

By the way look at Dan Niles. You are at Micron and it was touted a few months ago when he said the stock would be at 200. Now read this from TODAY.
"We are lowering our rating on Micron Technology to a Long-Term Attractive from Strong Buy," said Niles. "We are lowering our earnings per share estimates from $0.23 to $0.07 for the third quarter fiscal 1999, from $0.75 to $0.24 for fiscal 1999 and from $3.00 to $1.88 for fiscal 2000.

Is the world wrong ALL OF THE TIME

One last thing you might want to see how much the 64 Meg modules are going for today. $50 in the 1st of March they were 80. So even if you sell a ton of DRAM and sell as many PC's if this is the price you LOSE MONEY. And if your yield does stay in the upper 80's YOU LOSE MORE MONEY.

Then there is the small matter of the Korean's and how they are just standing by -- WRONG. They are doubling capacity and their yields are higher than the high 80's. So that make for more competition and soon you are selling for LOWER prices just to clear inventory resulting in you LOSING EVEN MORE MONEY.

Believe the PR out there. I was there for a long time and know it well. In the past they were executing, so they could afford some give and take; now they are stagnant. How long has it been since the .18um, not the optical shirnk, was supposed to be out? Last August. When were they supposed to have the Rendition part done and to tha Fab? Last June – they still have not even completed the taping out yet.

Enjoy the spring there and take John camping a lot there.
