hi carolyn,

wow! norton windoctor found and fixed 171 problems! i love it!

regarding desktop icons. did you know that you can drag and drop them? just put the arrow on the icon you want to move, left click once and, still holding the mouse button down, drag the icon to another location and let go. everything should stay where you left it when you shut down and reboot.

as for the 37 files... what folder are they in?

:)

"In Windows Explorer, I have 37 of these: File0001,File0002, etc."

okay, i found the same files on my pc.

i don't know what they are. i'm waiting for someone else to help. :) their pathname on my system appears to be:

C:\FILE0001._DD

from what you've described, they sound like cookies or temp internet files. we'll know soon...

anybody?

:)
