We're in the process of digging through the IBM numbers tonight. These numbers are already stinking up the PC at this end. Gerstner continues to convert IBM into a virtual company,....margins down, debt up, cash down, shareholder retained down, PC sales down sequentially etc. They spent more on share buybacks this quarter than most countries spend on their health care budgets

I've already taken a shot or two at IBM and Louis in the past, and would kill to be able to find a way to ascertain what percentage of those service contracts he is booking up front (but probably not possible). I consider him to be one of the slickest snake oil salesmen in the game, so there is a bit of motivation at this end to sort out his trickery. More as we dig, ideas gratefully accepted.

Best, Earlie.
