I too am looking for this info...Is there a master site of all traded and reported indexes known to mankind for North America.

I am particularily interested in the more obscure indexes.

Regards,
Carole

Here's a good list of many indexes (but not their components):
bloomberg.com

You can find components of many indexes in this options-related page:
cboe.com

In general, you can find lists of the components for an index on the sponsoring organization's site. Examples: (move within these pages to find related indexes)

DOW: averages.dowjones.com
S&P 500: spglobal.com
NASDAQ 100: nasdaq-amex.com
Russell: russell.com (click the links for each index to get its membership in PDF format)

(Goldman Sachs doesn't seem to provide components of the GSTI, but maybe someone else manages that. At any rate, I haven't found it yet.)
